Germino Lead 55 Low Voltage
Following closely in the footsteps of the standard Lead 55 the LV model uses a different power transformer from Heyboer which is wound to give lower voltages at the output stage. With GZ-34 rectifier, plate voltage is 415vdc.
The Lead 55LV employs the same tone control values as the standard Lead 55 along with a split cathode arrangement in the preamp. Filtering is reduced to 32uf in all stages.
Output transformer is the 784-139 replica from Heyboer with M 50 laminate. As with all Germino amplifiers the power transformer is selectable via a switch now for 120v, 200v, 220/230v and 240/250v operation.
Even with GZ-34 a very tight amplifier with excellent pick attack. At 50 watts and lower filtering this is a very gigable amp in small to medium rooms. Takes pedals extremely well.
This amp is entirely hand assembled and wired using only the finest quality components! NOS carbon comp resistors and TAD film/foil coupling caps arranged on an electrical grade fiberglass turret board. Heyboer custom wound transformers and choke. ARS and Sprague electrolytic capacitors all wired with copper stranded wire in a spot welded aluminum chassis.
